Inspection Station Safety, OBD II, and Tint Test Inspections

NC Safety Inspection

(20 to 30 years old) or less than 3 years old and less than 70,000 miles. Pass or fail customer will pay $12.75 for inspection. If inspection fails, you will have 60 days to fix the items that failed. Return with items fixed and pay $.85 for electronic authorization.

NC OBD II Inspection

After Market Tint Test

After market tint will fail if the light transmittance is less than 32%, the tint is red, yellow, or amber, the tint on the windshield extends more than five inches below the top of the windshield or is below the as1 line. All after market lettering on vehicle window(s) is illegal. *State mandated charge, pass or fail, effective 11/2010. Must be tested each year.
